Suits Arts is Charlie Suits, working throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Suits Arts is Charlie Suits: a saxophonist, woodwind player and arranger working out of Northern Kentucky. I teach private lessons on saxophone, flute and clarinet, run three bands of my own for weddings and events, write horn charts for other people's bands, and give masterclasses and clinics.

How far I travel, and what it costs

My regular working radius is two to three hours from Cincinnati. That covers the whole tristate comfortably - Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana - including a lot of places that do not have a page on this site: Florence, Fort Thomas, Fort Mitchell, Independence, Mason, West Chester, Hamilton, Oxford, Dayton, Batesville and the rest of the Ohio River corridor either side of the city.

Beyond that I do travel, and I have. I have played as far north as Pennsylvania and as far south as Mississippi. That kind of booking is entirely possible, it just needs more notice and it gets quoted with travel included rather than pretending distance is free.

For anything inside the core radius, travel is normally already in the number I give you. Outside it, I will tell you what the travel adds before you decide, as a line you can see rather than a number buried in a total. Lessons are different again: in person around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, and online for anyone further out, which removes the drive from the equation entirely.

If you are somewhere I have not listed, ask. The worst outcome is that I say the drive does not make sense for the length of the booking, and I would rather tell you that early than let you find out when the quote arrives.

What you can count on

• Fifteen years performing and more than fifty bands, across most of the styles you would want at an event
• Five years of Jazz Studies and two of Audio Production at Northern Kentucky University
• Lesson rates published on this site, which most schools around here will not do
• Every band I run is booked and answered by me, not by an agency taking a cut
• I write the horn charts myself, so a band I put together is not limited to what is already published
• Based in Northern Kentucky and playing across the tristate, with a standing Thursday in Newport
